Norfolk County Council Budget Setting – Have Your Say
Norfolk County Council is inviting you to let us know your thoughts on our 2027-28 budget consultation proposals.

• The consultation runs from Monday 26 October 2026 and closes on Monday 7 December 2026. The consultation is available here: www.norfolk.gov.uk/budget
• They will feed back the findings from the consultation to county councillors as part of the evidence they will use to help them come to a decision about budget proposals. Final decisions about the budget will be made by councillors in February 2027.
Our proposals
Overall spending is set to increase next year – but with significant pressures being felt due to increased demand for council services, particularly in adult social care and children’s services, and costs of inflation and reduced funding from central Government, the authority is facing a £35.927m budget gap.

They are seeking views on a proposal to increase council tax and eighty-six budget proposals adding up to efficiencies and cost reductions of £32.273m – which would make a big contribution towards a balanced budget.
